DEKTON

Capture

This durable surface is not only easy to maintain but has the potential for both indoor and outdoor use.

What is DEKTON?

Dekton is not quartz, nor a porcelain surface, it is an ultra compact surface made with a sophisticated blend of the raw materials: quartz and porcelain. These materials are used to produce the very latest in glass and porcelain, as well as, the highest quality quartz work surfaces.

While nature takes thousands of years to make the metamorphic changes in natural stone, Dekton emulates this natural process with the largest press of the world. Also the latest technology is used to create an ultra-compact surface in hours.

Why chose DEKTON?

  1. It’s just one piece. The same material through the body, unlike porcelain surfaces that have a separate decorative glazed top layer and a base colour layer. Dekton’s properties are the same throughout the slab. This result in a surface with better mechanical, thermal properties making it water, fire, stains and impact resistant as well as an unique design.
  2. Dekton can help you save money. You can chose between 5 different thicknesses. Due to the availability of 2 cm and 3 cm there is no need to mitre the edge saving you money from a porcelain counter top installation.
  3. It needs minimal maintenance. Dekton offers the natural stone and other exotic materials look and feel without the cost of maintenance that this material needs. Thanks to its minimal porosity you can use any cleaning product or just a wet cloth to clean it.
  4. Beautiful design and best innovation with new finishes being updated regularly
  5. With 25 years of warranty you can get the best counter top warranty in industry.

What is the right dining table top for you?

Your dining furniture is an integral part of your home. It’s more than just a table and chairs – it’s where loved ones catch up over dinner each evening; it’s important for entertaining and special occasions too.

5115E269-A83D-44C9-976D-DCF2373BBF76

Once you have selected the shape and size of the table you want for your dining room, the next step is the choice of material for the top.  Whatever you use your dining table for – be it family dinners, grand feasts, homework, craft or regular entertaining – a good table should be adaptable, robust and fit your needs.

Regarding to materials there are many possibilities, but each one has its own characteristics in terms of strength, appearance, ease of maintenance.

wood

WOOD

Wood is a living material. This makes it the perfect choice for those who love natural materials. It is sensitive to light and it gets to its final shade over time. In terms of maintenance wood needs some attention as it fears moisture and absorbs oily and greasy substances. It is however very versatile material, adapts well to classic and contemporary environments.

GLASS

It is surely one of the most used materials in many furniture as well as dining tables. It is fragile by its nature but it acquires resistance when subjected to certain treatments such as tempering. Transparent glass is perfect to lighten a room or to highlight a table base.

CERAMIC

Ceramic is not very demanding for maintenance and very resistant to stains, high temperatures, humidity and scratches; hygienic and easy to clean.

Moreover it is suitable for different treatments and its finishes can simulate the aesthetics of natural stones.

B686D8CC-8A25-466A-B6BD-17FA86974CF8

MARBLE

Natural and very precious material. Marble veins depend on the impurities of the original rock. Therefore each block and each cut will have different characteristics. The surface can be worked in many different ways achieving glossy or smooth finish. It is very durable material even if due to its porosity it can absorb liquids, therefore it requires a little attention in daily use. Its precious appearance makes it perfect for luxury dining room.

Bring everyone together at meal times with a table that fits your needs and living space.

White Kitchen

Because, simply, white kitchens will always be best sellers thanks to their timeless hue. The choice of white cabinetry provides a crisp, smart look for your new modern kitchen or a classic backdrop for a country kitchen. Choosing a white kitchen could be the best decision you’ll ever make.

The usual design rules apply though, particularly where white is concerned. It’s generally acknowledged that a totally white colour scheme can look clinical, reminding us of an operating theatre rather than a warm, welcoming room that is the heart of your house.

Marble could be a excellent addition to white cabinets. It’s an exquisite and dazzling choice for a kitchen. Hunt for particular designs and varieties in tone for an totally one of a kind splash back or worktop. Or as seen in one of our kitchen ranges below, also available as a marble like finish for the cabinets, contrasted with dark base units creates a modern and timeless design.

The expressiveness, which is typical of the living material is here presented not only to the full but also in a completely reinvented, contemporary way, giving life to technologically advanced environments, in which living goes back to being natural, secret and personal.

In any case, the idea of wood always finds room to express itself in a lively, dynamic, material way.

Shades of black: Kitchen interior trend 2018

Black in furnishing

Use of dark colours in interior design has become extremely successful after being presented during the Milan Design Week 2018. For years Nordic style has been stealing consumer’s hearts and now in combination with a range of dark colours; from intense browns to deep blues, from greys in to the shades of total black it continues to meet designers taste.

Black: complete, fundamental, sophisticated  and elegant. In character with those who love to dare. It is not easy to use, especially in furniture , but if introduced to your interior in correct way it can transform the atmosphere of your room enhancing it with sophistication that darker shades naturally possess.

It is the common perception, that black is associated with darkness: therefore because of its intensity it is often used in accessories or small furniture, often combined with lighter colours that make it appears weaker. It is perhaps the fact that we are afraid it will make our space look smaller and dim.

In fact, when using black wisely it can give your interior a touch of character and sharpness. More popular in industrial and vintage style interior, dark colour can give your space strong identity symbolising power, respect and authority. Perfect in modern interior with minimal furniture, also combined with white colour creates a timeless look.

Aliant-light

Black according to Feng Shui

The Feng Shui is a practice of Chinese and Tibetan origin, very ancient tradition. According to Feng Shui, the harmony of man depends on the balance. It states that the layout of the room and furnishings as well as the colours that dress them, must response to precise rules in order to create a calm environment that maximizes the well-being of those who live there.

Black adds depth to an environment and fills the space with energy: it is therefore suitable for furnishing rooms where the activity is dynamic, such as kitchen which is the centre of the house. It’s not advised to be used in  areas dedicated to relaxation and rest.

What to consider if you want a dark kitchen

One of the most important factors  to keep in mind when planning to use black in the kitchen is BALANCE. It is necessary to evaluate the size and shape of your room as well as lighting as black or in facts any very dark tint can dominate the entire environment.

If the kitchen area is a small space, using dark kitchen furniture will make it cramped, it is therefore advised to use light colour, only adding few black details. If however the kitchen is generous, choosing dark colour will make a great impact on your space and positively impress your guests. Black imply refined and luxurious style, especially when accompanied by lights that define its contours and enhance its depth. The black kitchen with appropriately positioned lights will appear scenographic.

As well as the aesthetic advantages, black kitchen also has other benefits: it needs little maintance, due to dark colours being very resistant and in opaque finish also masks the fingerprints, therefore the kitchen becomes much more functional and easy to clean.

The Aliant kitchen presented by STOSA is a perfect example of a dark kitchen enhanced by light colours. The pantry with opaque black glass doors and the window with brushed black frame doors and semi-transparent grey glass perfectly match the central island in HPL Argilla finish.  What STOSA created is a strong, elegant and extremely functional kitchen.

Aliant

In order to make the dark kitchen less impactful we suggest the trick of using light or bright colours as shown in the Metropolis kitchen. Use of black with combination of Pet Grau and Cool Grey Pet balancing the colour, creating a dynamic composition.

Metropolis

Alternatives to dark kitchens

For those afraid to use black in the kitchen, the shades of grey are a great compromise, they are elegant and at the same time timeless.  STOSA Newport kitchen is a classic- contemporary look that blends two shades of grey; the lighter Girgio Piacenza lacquered finish of the hood wall units and the island, the darker colour Gray Partridge Ash use in base units and frame columns.

Newport

Wide range of STOSA kitchens makes it possible to find your perfect composition, designed for different lifestyles and to meet different tastes and needs. Everyone can find the kitchen that best reflects their character by innovation, functionality, ergonomics and a quality that lasts over time.

The new model of STOSA kitchen soon will be on our display in our Cambridge showroom. Come and see one of kitchen designers if you are planning on upgrading your kitchen. We can advise you on the colour and finish to create your perfect space in time for Christmas celebrations.  Visit our showroom at 132 Newmarket Road, Cambridge, CB5 8HE
